I’m honored to be speaking at the 4th Annual AAPI Against Gun Violence Convening, taking place July 1–2, 2025. This gathering brings together survivors, organizers, researchers, and advocates working to end gun violence and build safety in our communities.
On July 1 from 11:15am–12:15pm, I’ll be part of the panel:
🗣 In Their Own Voices: Survivor Voices Shaping the Movement
Survivors of gun violence carry not only deep personal loss, but also the power to transform pain into purpose. I’ll be representing myself as a survivor and as a member of Teachers Unify to End Gun Violence, joining fellow advocates including Rais Bhuiyan, Delphine Cherry, Dr. Halleh Akbarnia, and moderator Kristin Song. Together, we’ll reflect on how lived experience drives urgency, vision, and leadership in the fight to end gun violence.
Keynote speakers at the convening include:
Julie Morita, President & CEO, The Joyce Foundation
Anat Shenker-Osorio, Principal and Founder, ASO Communications
Rep. Robin Kelly, U.S. Representative, Illinois’ 2nd District
The convening is hosted by MomsRising, Newtown Action Alliance, Chinese for Affirmative Action, and the Japanese American Citizens League, with support from a powerful coalition of organizations and families impacted by gun violence.
Special thanks to the AAPI Against Gun Violence Steering Committee for making this gathering possible:
